Mindfulness and Meditation
Meditating helps us bring awareness to our thoughts and body. It is a way to practice mindfulness. Mindfulness was defined by Jon Kabat- Zinn and it is state of awareness in the present moment without judgement. Meditation can increase the body and mind connection. There are different types of meditations that we can practice. If you are interested in learning more, we can incorporate meditation techniques in treatment.
Telehealth/Telemedicine - When distance becomes an obstacle to receiving counseling services the use of telecommunications can assist. We provide these services through a HIPPA protected system of communication.
Individual counseling is provided to adults. These sessions are with an individual client and clinician. It is intended to set goals for treatment that address things that the client wants to accomplish in order to improve their quality of living. Individual therapy helps with increasing self-awareness, self-identity, self-love, self-acceptance, self-esteem, and overall self-growth. Some issues that are addressed include anxiety, depression, stress management, developing healthy eating habits, sleep hygiene, and time management. Intake sessions are 1 hour and followup sessions are 45 minutes in duration.
